the beach (again)
Today we started of by going to bowleaze cove and having a look around the car boot sale which was rubbish. Then we went to the beach which was great. the weather was great and we went in the sea. The tide was really low and you had to walk out for miles (not literally) but once you were under it was lovely. the sea was very warm (19 degrees) which is the hottest its been all year. Unfortunately I didn't get any pics but hopefully will tomorrow as the weather forecast is great so no doubt we will be going to the beach again or doing something of the sort :)
p.s I will be doing a blog on loom bands soon as i have been addicted to them over the past few weeks as something to keep me busy during the holidays.

A week on
today our grandparents arrived. so far its been the worst day on holiday even though it was 23 degrees and sunny. that shows just how amazing this summer holiday has been. my dad is going home today :(, and will be back in 3-4 weeks time for my birthday :). we might be going to the beach today, but if not we will go into town for a bit of retail therapy :).
in the end we did go to the beach and then went into town to get some fish and chips at the marlboro, brilliant as usual :)

The beach
Today our cousins arrived. The weather was so good that within half and hour of their arrival we went down to the beach. It was slightly cloudier than yesterday so it was almost bearable sitting out in the sun. we swam to the raft today which was great fun and yet again found another jellyfish. Overall it was a day enjoyed by everyone and a great way for our cousins to start their 2 week holiday.

Thunderstorms
Earlier on this afternoon we experienced a completely out of the blue storm. The clouds covered the sky very quickly and then we had unbelievably heavy rain for about 10 minutes and then the storm disappeared as quickly as it came. unfortunately i couldn't get any pictures of the rain because i was indoors but i did get some pics of the clouds as they covered the sky.
weymouth beach, round 3
Today me and mum went to weymouth beach whilst my brother and dad went to the tank museum. they had a great day but I thought i'd rather enjoy the weather and go to the beach. We went in the sea over 4 times. We were there until 4 o'clock which is the longest we've ever been down the beach for.

Lobster pot
Today we went to the lobster pot restaurant at portland bill. as a continuation from my eateries in and around weymouth I've decided to review this place as well.
food quality
5/5
We have been coming here ever since we've been coming to weymouth and can confidently say that we've never had a bad meal. The food here is excellent and there is a wide variety on offer. Also there are some things that are no longer on the menu yet if you are a regular will know about and if you ask they can still make it for you which shows very good customer service. they also offer cream teas which are the best I've ever tasted and you will not get as good a cream tea anywhere in the rest of dorset if not the country.
ambience
5/5
There is always a nice ambience in this restaurant. mainly because everyone is talking about the incredible view out of the windows due to the lobster pot's location. This is also evident for people who are regular visitors and yet are still amazed by the scenery outside especially on windy days with the famous race boiling like a cauldron out at sea.
price
5/5
for what you get in this place the price is excellent. Great food, big portions and freshly made means that you are never disappointed by the price when you get the bill. This is important because it means that people are more likely to regularly come back as opposed to only going on special occasions. therefor the restaurant is always busy and there is often a queue to get a table.
wifi
5/5
for a place that is so remote and doesn't even have a phone signal, the wifi connection is great. once you have entered the password the wifi is fast and when you come back again it remembers your device meaning that you don't have to reenter the password. the wifi password is clearly displayed on a notice board inside the restaurant and a member of staff will tell you what it is if you can't find it.
customer service
5/5
the customer service is some of the best I've ever experienced. the waiters and waitress' take the orders by memory and have never got it wrong since we've been going there. As soon as you sit down you are made to feel at home and made to feel very welcome. you are never rushed to order and they let you take your time which is nice. the same happens once you've eaten. they are never rushing to get rid of you so that they can get another group of people in. this means that they get a lot of repeat customers so they must be doing something right.
extras
5/5
there are loads of extras to choose from. you can get them in the shop and they range from vouchers offering a pot of tea for 1 or 2 and cream tea for 1 or 2. these are nice little gifts to buy for birthday or christmas presents as they are valid for 6 months after purchase and are a lovely gesture for someone who always goes or has never been before and you think will like it.
overall rating
5/5
the best cream teas in the county. they are amazing. the atmosphere twinned with the price means that if you are in the area this place is a must visit attraction if not just for the views and the famous portland bill lighthouse.

February storms
Earlier this year we visited weymouth during the half term as we were getting ready for the spring and summer season to start. We visited around the time of the huge storms that battered the east and south coast of England. The imp at it had on the landscape around weymouth was incredible. Chesil beach was unrecognisable and weymouth beach had gone over into the road with pebbles and sand everywhere. At Chesil beach it was evident that the sea defences had taken a battering with the main wall having been undermined by the sea causing it to nearly collapse.

Day out at Portland Bill
Today we went to portland bill. I've never seen the sea so calm it was quite surreal. We ate in the lobster pot restaurant and as usual it was great. We also went scrambling on the rocks. overall it was a great day out enjoyed by all.
